Background
The Poplar Lane site has been selected following a detailed study of the West Midland Region. The study identified areas of land that meet the criteria set out in national planning policy guidelines for potential wind farm sites. As a result of this detailed research and careful assessment, Nuon Renewables will be proposing a wind farm which it believes is of a scale and design appropriate to this part of the country. Feedback from the public consultation held on 29th and 30th June will be considered along with responses from consultations with other interested bodies. A planning application will be prepared and submitted to the planning authority, North Shropshire District Council. This will be supported by an Environmental Statement prepared by Entec, a leading environmental and engineering consultancy. Once the planning application has been registered the Environmental Statement will be available for public inspection at the District Council Planning Offices and will also be supplied to the local Parish Councils of Woore and Norton-in-Hales.
