Community Benefits

When the Airfield Wind Farm is built, Nuon is proposing a community fund of £1500 per MW per year. For the revised 20.7MW project this amount to a total of £31,000 per year over the 25 year lifetime of the project. Nuon hopes that the fund would be administered by members of the community and the money used to help fund local projects with the emphasis on sustainability and the environment. Nuon is also investigating the possibility of the fund providing money for domestic and small business micro-generation projects.

Own A Stake In The Airfield Wind Farm

Energy4All are working in co-operation with Nuon to offer local residents the opportunity of co-owning part of the Airfield Farm proposal.

Benefits of Community Ownership include a direct stake in a local project, returns for members based on the sale of green electricity, extended economic benefits for the local area, local energy conservation projects and educational support on environmental issues. Membership is open to everybody with preference given to those who live closest to the wind farm.
