Community Benefits

Nuon will put forward a community benefit package as part of our on going support for the neighbourhood. Nuon propose to contribute £2,500 per MW for every year of operation generating a significant contribution to the local community over the 25 years of its operational life. Assuming a 32.5MW project this will equate to an annual payment of over £81,000 per year.

The fund will be a legal entity set up as part of the development with rules for its operation agreed as a planning obligation. Trustees will be made up of elected members of the community in partnership with Nuon. The trustees of the fund will administer the money allocate every year to pre agreed appropriate schemes and services.

Consultation with the community and key local organisations will determine the type of projects and services that will benefit from the fund. There will be a strong emphasis on sustainable projects that will enhance the lives of people within the community and enhance the environment and economy of the local area.
