Why Franklin?

The Devon County Council Structure Plan 2001 - 2016 identified parts of Devon that were suitable for ' strategic wind based energy production' This included parts of North Devon south of the A361 between Tiverton and Barnstaple.

The site at Franklyn has a viable wind resource, is located outside nationally designated areas for landscape and is within reasonable proximity to the National Grid.

It was because of this important factors that interest was initially raised.
