The Project
Nuon is investigating the potential to develop a wind farm in an area known as Rhyd Ddu which is located south east of Llanerfyl in Montgomeryshire, Powys. Rhyd Ddu is within an area that has identified by the Welsh Assembly Government as suitable for wind farm development in its policy to reduce its dependancy on fossil fuels and ensure a secure mix of energy generation for Wales.
At this stage it is anticipated that the site has the capacity to accommodate a wind farm with a capacity of 50MW or more. The application will be considered by the Department of Energy and Climate Change.
