Project Status
In February 2006 Nuon held a workshop in the Llanerfyl Community Hall to discuss issues of concern for the local community and potential ways in which the community might benefit from funds from the proposed wind farm at Mynydd Waun Fawr. The feedback Nuon received from this well attended workshop have helped to formulate Nuon’s suggestions for community funding. Public consultation exhibitions followed on the 25th, 26th and 27th of May held at Cefn Coch and Llanerfyl community halls. These exhibitions allowed residents to view the preliminary proposals for Mynydd Waun Fawr and exchange information and views on the proposals. Feedback forms were also distributed to allow residents to provide written feedback. Around 100 residents attended the exhibitions. The information gathered during this crucial component of development process has assisted Nuon in understanding the concerns of the local community and the best means of mitigating these by careful planning and design.
The design process is now complete the Environmental Assessment has been submitted to Powys County Council as part of the planning application. The formal consultation process is now underway and hard copies of the Environmental Statement can be viewed at the Powys County Council offices in Welshpool, at the community hall in Llanerfyl or by appointment with the clerk of Dwyriw Community Council. Alternatively you can download the Environmental Statement and the Non Technical Summary from the downloads page on our website. Nuon is also making progress with the Community Benefit scheme and further details on this can be found on the Community Benefit web page.
