I hope you find this useful – it is too important a decision to be derailed by myths!

'More Energy is used making and erecting the turbine than it generates in its life

There is no basis for this claim at all; it is pure myth. Every independent report states that the ‘embedded energy’ in manufacture and erection of wind turbines is recovered in two to fifteen months, with the majority stating five to nine months as typical. This is quicker than the energy payback for building conventional or nuclear power stations.

‘Wind Farms are inflicted on local communities by multinational corporations who will take the subsidy and leave the local taxpayer with the liability to decommission a useless asset
There is no subsidy for building wind farms. To find independent verification on this and other facts visit the site http://www.berr.gov.uk/energy/sources/renewables/index.html

The concept that the wind farm is useless and a liability to the local tax payer is a complete myth, and despite having the best wind resource in Europe we have fewer wind farms than Germany, Spain, Denmark or Italy.
