Nuon Renewables is the UK-based subsidiary of nv Nuon.
The company is focused on making a substantial contribution to renewable energy generation in the UK, principally through the development of wind farm projects.
We are convinced of the imperative for action now to reduce emissions which are contributing towards accelerated climate change. We are also convinced of the need to develop safe, sustainable and indigenous methods of electricity generation for the future. Renewable energy projects will make a significant contribution to cutting emissions, and alongside an extensive programme of energy efficiency the UK has the opportunity to drastically cut our greenhouse gas emissions and our reliance on imported fuel.
Wind power is currently a very cost-effective and well developed source of renewable energy and is a means by which immediate emission savings can be made. However, Nuon is also aware of the need to balance the benefits of wind power projects against possible effects on the amenity of local communities and the local environment. We ensure that a full, independent and detailed assessment of the environmental impact of any project we propose is undertaken. Nuon is committed to ensuring that consultation is carried out with all the relevant communities and stakeholders both local and national. Nuon's projects are designed and developed in response to this consultation in order that they make good neighbours as well as helping to safeguard the environment for future generations.
